The government of Zimbabwe has reached an agreement with Apple to create a common enterprise. The joint-venture will offer a "School Box" to the most remote rural schools. This box will include an iPad, a micro-projector and solar panels to power the devices.
The government's desire is to overcome the lack of infrastructure and reduce the digital bridge between rural and urban areas by providing a simple, fun and easy to use device. The first tablets should be distributed by the beginning of 2012.
